Students Enjoy A Day of Swimming and Fun

Approximately 300 persons consisting of students and their families gathered at the AIIAS Gymnasium to board the vehicles at 8:00 a.m on Sunday, September 17, 2017. The group traveled to The Riviera Golf Club, a golf course with resort-like facilities situated in Silang, Cavite, Philippines, which is a 10-minute drive from AIIAS campus.

The initially voted location by the student body was under renovation during the scheduled date of the outing, so the Student Association (SA) officers had to revert to the second voted option which was The Riviera. Though it was the student body’s second choice, the SA team met the high expectations of the student population by providing activities that catered all ages.

“We enjoyed our time in the pool and taught children to swim. Family members, while watching over their children, caught up with each others’ lives. Other students played basketball, badminton, and volleyball,” said Beersheba Maywald, SA Secretary.

Some of the faculty and staff who graced the occasion joined the students in the basketball and volleyball court, eating lounge, nature trails, and swimming pools.

“It was a great time to see students and faculty coming together to bond and have fun amidst all of the assignments that we had. It was a memorable occasion, one that we will never forget,” remarked Dwane Brent Sylvester, SA Public Relations personnel.

The event was organized by Huayi “Belinda” Liu, the SA Social Committee chair and her team.

In an academic environment, the SA outing proved to be a break for the students. This outing was a way to foster strong relations in the AIIAS community.
