AIIAS is pleased to announce Ricardo Adolfo Gonzalez Astudillo has been chosen to be the AIIAS Theological Seminary Dean. Dr. Gonzalez, a native of Chile, is an alumnus of AIIAS. He graduated in 2008 with a Doctor of Philosophy in Religion degree.
“We are excited for Dr. González to join us here at AIIAS and for the addition he will be to our leadership team,” said Dr. Stephen Guptill, AIIAS president. “They are not strangers to AIIAS and we look forward to having them be active in the community once again.”
Dr. González has previously served in various pastoral and administrative positions. Most recently, he was appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Central South Chile Conference. He has served as the President of Chile Adventist University for the past five years.
Dr. Gonzalez is married to Mrs. Nery Vasquez Gonzalez, who has been teaching at Chile Adventist University. They have two adult children: Constanza and Felipe.
Outgoing Dean Dr. Richard Sabuin has served as the dean since April 2011. He was voted as Director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) at the end of 2015.
Dr. Stephen Guptill said, “We are sad to see the Sabuins leave. Dr. Sabuin has been a great asset to our administration and to our community. The whole Sabuin family has been very active in church activities. We will miss them.”
