AIIAS Faculty gathered for a colloquium themed “Faculty Development: Representation of Content” today, September 4. The first part included dealing with some business issues. The second part included two presentations on advance organizers and enhancing courses with videos.
“It’s essential that we as faculty continually upgrade ourselves and our teaching methods,” said Dr. Dolf Oberholster, vice president for academic administration.
In advance organizers, Dr. Prema Gaikwad presented a teaching method by using outline models in graphical or textual designs or combination of both. This proves to be very helpful in the learning process.
Dr. Leni Casimiro presented on how to produce instructional videos and some tips on how to make them more interesting.
Each term a faculty colloquium is held. The five meetings per year allow for faculty upgrading and development in various areas.
The Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies is a General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists institution that offers exclusively postgraduate education in four main areas: business, education, public health, and religion.
