Bio:
Victoria Tayo Aja, a Nigerian national, who has educational training in the fields of theology, education, and chaplaincy from reputable universities in Nigeria and the USA. Dr. Aja obtained her BA in Theology degree from Andrews University Extension Campus of Adventist Seminary of West Africa, now Babcock University, Nigeria. She holds an MA in Educational Management degree from Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria. After some years, she proceeded to the USA, where she obtained her MA in Clinical Chaplaincy and DMin in Chaplaincy with emphasis in Health Care Chaplaincy from Loma Linda University and Andrews University, respectively. Dr. Aja is a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC).
She is currently an assistant professor in the Applied Theology Department of AIIAS Theological Seminary. Prior to joining AIIAS in December 2017, she was an adjunct lecturer in the Religious Studies Department as well as a full-time chaplain and director of Chaplaincy at Babcock University/Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. Dr. Aja has more than 27 years of experience as a denominational worker.
Recent Publications:
Victoria Tayo Aja contributes to the development and structuring of Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education programs. She engages in scholarly presentations on topics related to chaplaincy at seminars and workshops. Her recent scholarly peer-reviewed publication is titled “The Relevance of Patients’ Spiritual Care in the Nigerian Cultural Context: A Health Care Chaplain’s Perspective.”
