The Graduate School degree programs of AIIAS have been granted re-accreditation status by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). This provides further evidence of the consistent quality of AIIAS degree programs.
The Master of Arts in Education, Educational Specialist, Doctor of Philosophy in Education, Master of Public Health and Master of Business Administration programs received Level III re-accreditation which will be valid until November 2022. The Doctor of Philosophy in Business program received Level I accreditation and valid until November 2020. The PhD in Business is a relatively new academic program and the first of its kind to be offered by an Adventist higher education institution.
Level III re-accreditation means that AIIAS continues to enjoy the authority to offer new programs allied to existing Level III programs without the need for prior approval, provided that the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is duly informed. AIIAS also enjoys the privilege to offer other new graduate programs, open learning/ distance education, extension classes, and to participate in transnational education. The vice president for academic administration, Dr. Dolf Oberholster said, “almost all of the Graduate School programs have had Level III re-accreditation for a number of years already which enables AIIAS to enjoy a good level of autonomy.”
On August 23-24, 2017 an accreditation team visited AIIAS from PAASCU. They were on campus to conduct the evaluation of the Graduate School degree programs as part of the regular 5-year cycle of re-accreditation. Last week AIIAS received the actual Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) certificates of accreditation. AIIAS thanks Dr. Arceli Rosario and her team for their careful planning and excellent preparation for the PAASCU visit.
PAASCU is a full member of the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) and of the International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE). PAASCU is the 3rd oldest accrediting association in the world and just celebrated its 60th anniversary last year.
